Oak Hill Hospital nurses vote for union representation (Tampa Bay Business Journal)
Registered nurses at Oak Hill Hospital have voted to affiliate with National Nurses Organizing Committee-Florida. Sixty-seven percent of the nurses from the Brooksville hospital voted in favor of the union representation in a secret ballot election held by the National Labor Relations Board Thursday, a press statement said. Building on the success of Gov. Jay Nixon's Caring for Missourians initiative, Missouri's public universities could receive an additional $3 million over the next three years to educate more nurses under a new proposal. Premier Robert Ghiz heads for the door and Opposition leader Olive Crane shakes hands with fellow MLAs as the fall session closes.
