Critics say drugs are not the best way to deal with difficult dementia patients Caring for dementia patients can be difficult, but that's no excuse for pumping them full of antipsychotic drugs, said panelists at a recent Senate Aging Committee forum.
Registered nurses at Oak Hill Hospital have voted to affiliate with National Nurses Organizing Committee-Florida. Sixty-seven percent of the nurses from the Brooksville hospital voted in favor of the union representation in a secret ballot election held by the National Labor Relations Board Thursday, a press statement said.
Building on the success of Gov. Jay Nixon's Caring for Missourians initiative, Missouri's public universities could receive an additional $3 million over the next three years to educate more nurses under a new proposal.
