Visiting Nursing Assn. Hires Speech Pathologist (The Post-Journal, Jamestown New York)
The Visiting Nursing Association of Western New York has hired a new full-time speech language pathologist dedicated to Chautauqua County. The number of Canadian nurses is growing faster than the population, but there are still fewer registered nurses per capita than in the early 1990s.
Mathew Harp scoots around the neighborhood in his motorized wheelchair. This past March - after a year in a nursing home - A Harp got his wish and moved out.
Part of the recent national health care reform covers breastfeeding mothers and their rights in the workplace; the West Virginia Breastfeeding Alliance is trying to help employers operate within the law while support nursing mothers and healthy babies.
